Spend a day behind the scenes in the animal park … we get kids and teenagers out of cyberspace and connected with each other, local native wildlife and the great outdoors!
Wildlife Guardians
During the school holidays your kids can become Wildlife Guardians and spend the day with the keepers behind-the-scenes in the Animal Park. Activities include:
- learning about conservation and caring for our wildlife
- design and build a reptile enclosure
- create enrichment for the wombats and native birds
Numbers are strictly limited so book in early to avoid disappointment
Age: 8-12 years
Limit: 10 per workshop
Time: 9am to 3.30pm (register 8.30am)
Cost: $80
Includes: lunch, afternoon tea & certificate of participation

Keeper For a Day
Be a Park Keeper for a Day – Your teenagers can spend a day behind the scenes with one of our senior keepers. Find out what working in a captive animal facility is all about. Learn about the conservation of our local wildlife, animal husbandry practises and work at creating and providing enrichment for our animals. Runs during school holidays only
Age: 12-18 years
Limit: 10 per workshop
Time: 9am to 3.30pm (register 9am)
Cost: $100 per participant
Includes: lunch, afternoon tea, certificate of participation.

Mini Guardians
We’re introducing a brand-new program for your Mini Guardians! Includes all the fun things our Wildlife Guardian program has to offer but in a smaller more intimate group! Spend a fun-filled day with our awesome keepers behind-the-scenes in the Animal Park. Activities include:
- learning about conservation and caring for our wildlife
- design and build a reptile enclosure
- create enrichment for the wombats and native birds

Age: 5-7 years
Limit: 5 per workshop
Time: 9am to 12:30pm (register 8.30am)
Cost: $60
Includes: pancakes & certificate of participation

Creature Keeper One on One
(for NDIS planholders and children with a disability)
We know that for children with a disability, interacting with animals can provide countless benefits towards general well-being, developing a sense of responsibility, social inclusion and increased functionality.
This program offers a safe experience designed to build a participant’s independence, confidence, skills and knowledge of wildlife. Participants spend a day with our Head Keepers, learning about animals and how we care for them.
The sights, sounds, smells and immersive environment of the Animal Park allows for self-paced discovery of living things. Participants are encouraged to connect with animals and nature to develop confidence, engagement and communication.
Activities include –
Creating and providing enrichment object for a range of animals
Feeding (aviary hand feed, treats to goats, alpacas, calves with milk, koala top up browse)
Handling (walking animals, time in the sun for reptiles)
Grooming (brushing and washing Farmyard animals)
Helping cleaning enclosures or providing bedding to animals
Limit: 1 per workshop. If you feel the participant requires additional care we welcome you to bring along their carer for free park admission. Please note this at time of booking.
$300 per workshop (Monday to Saturday, excluding public holidays)
